Clarifying Values

Part I: A general focus on my personal values 💫

To be honest, when I started writing this I got stuck. Ironic considering the topic but I think the best approach was to not force the content. I let the week (or two) get ahead of me and met it with acceptance. Good habits continue to unfold with every passing day…

*cue passionate typing💬*

I started this blog with the intention of sharing my experiences, thoughts, creativity, and community. While that still rings true, When that spark hits for the topic of choice, I just let it flow. I want my reflections to be harmonious with that go with the flow attitude. The twist is in my intention :

 wellness / creativity / mindset

Core Values

What do you know to be true at the root of your core?

I know that this far in my life, I have survived. I have listened with care to others’ experiences which have helped me understand and recognize resilience. These stories have influenced my choices to support my community. I am human and have made mistakes, which I like to think of as learning opportunities. I am grateful that I found my sense of identity and belonging early on, committed to expanding my perspective.

I am certain that time for reflection & creative expression are necessary to heal/grow/thrive. I will continue to learn from the world & receive its energy to better acknowledge my own.

WHAT do you value?

These three make up the sincerest combo that are present in my day to day life. My personal philosophy if you will. These could each have their own featured space within the blog (maybe they will) & I believe that if given the right space to develop, are my compass towards being my best self. These are the inspiration behind this blog & remember the three themes from earlier? Feel free to scroll up 🔝 Yes, they are intentional parallels to the triple p’s :

perseverance / passion / perspective

WHO do you value?

This one has two parts — I’ve learned how to expand my worldview, something that allows me to bring awareness to lived experiences outside of my own. I deeply value everyone for what they teach me by simply being. The positives often lead me to more curiosity, admiration & friendship. On the flip side, negative energy is bound to pass through our lives and is a reminder that everything requires a balance. More insight to come in Part II (let’s get to specific!) Given my massive desire to better understand human behavior, it’s no wonder I was a psychology major 🌝🌚

An Invitation…

We should remain present in our lives especially if we intend to show up for others. Our world views are shaped by our exposure to other environments, cultures & energies, so how could we ever close ourselves off to the possibilities of a perspective different than our own? I’ll leave you with some questions for reflection :

What fuels you?

Ever had a deeply rooted cause you’re willing to fight for? That fire in your belly? The things in life that keep you going…

What makes you feel alive?

Similar and notably different right? Now you have the opportunity to narrow it down & specify what contributes most to your very essence. How is that feeling different than what fuels you? Notice what shows up for you. Maybe your previous answer changes knowing the depth of this one.

If you feel like sharing any of your reflections with me, I’d love to hear them. Drop me a message 💌

As always, light & love to you groovers. Keep growing with me
